Assault Heroes 2 (Xbox 360)

Assault Heroes 2 is an old school dual stick shooter with plenty of new age sensibilities to make it an engaging game. There are better weapons and vehicles and upgraded levels to boot. The main focus of the game is on shooting so you will not have any puzzles or cut scenes interrupt the fun.

Alien forces are attempting a hostile takeover of Earth and it is your job to shoot them all down. The controls are precise and simple which allow for better movement than before. The mechanics of the game remain firm and solid, meaning that the difficulty ramps up in a flow. There are new vehicles to try out which only add to the action; however the addition of a spaceship takes away from the fun the fun. The controls and physics are completely warped here and give you no way to survive on the first go. The new weapons add much power to your arsenal, even if there is a lack of variety. The freeze gun, in particular will have you drooling over its power and usage. There are not many modes in the game, only the standard coop mode and Xbox Live experience.

The visuals work well; sound effects keep you in the mood and are worth the price tag. There are enough reasons to pick up this game if you want some straight out shooting action.
