IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey is a combat flight simulator video game for the Nintendo DS, the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation Portable. The PC version of this game is called Wings of Prey.

Like the other installments of the PC series IL-2 Sturmovik, it features combat aircraft from World War II. You can play in a campaign mode where you can play the Allies against the Axis, and also in a multiplayer mode.

Birds of Prey reenacts the famous, historic air combat and ground military operations of World War II. You’ll see real time damage to the aircraft, like holes in the wings during dog fights, and easily see ground support actions. With IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey you can choose from hundreds of aircraft taking part in air battles.

Nintendo DS consoles have changed the world

The Nintendo DS range of consoles has changed our ability to do things on the move. It has been one of the most influential products made and sold in this most recent decade. There are a number of other fantastic consoles on the market at the moment that all offer great gaming with some extras. These consoles include the Xbox as well as several models of the Playstation. The Nintendo Wii has also created a trend of its own that has been very successful.

With so many new forms of technology becoming available every single day, it is very easy to forget why a product is so good in the first place. Nintendo sues over R4 and copyright breach in Australia

It looks as though Nintendo is far from letting go of lawsuits against the distributors of the R4. Although they have tried to shut down the company several times directly they have failed, and the public outcry from Nintendo DS console users has been overwhelming. They do not want to have the R4 taken away from them and they have threatened to abandon the entire Nintendo range if it is removed. However, Nintendo has been tight lipped for some time over the R4, making it seem that they had simply accepted that the R4 is here to stay.

Now only in the last month does it appear that Nintendo has begun to step forward again with the aim of squashing the R4. It has started in the Australian Nintendo division where there have been two successful lawsuits filed against people for the use of the R4 and copyright breach of games. In one case a young Queensland man was sued for uploading an unreleased Nintendo DS game to an internet forum. As a result Nintendo claims to have lost over a million dollars in sales and as such the man has to pay around 1.5 million dollars to the company. This man is reported to be an R4 user and vocal advocate of the product.

In another suit Nintendo has sued a company in Australia that was distributing and selling the R4 through a website and also a number of stores. The company has agreed to stop distributing the product and it is reported that they have been ordered to pay Nintendo in excess of $620,000.

Nintendo are taking down people that violate their rights indirectly, but it is becoming a successful pursuit. R4 users be on alert; Nintendo may be coming for you next.

Nintendo are determined to remove R4 from the market

Nintendo has tried multiple times to sue the manufacturers of the popular R4 product and have attempted to ban it from sale and use worldwide. However, they have essentially failed on all of those attempts not just in court but because each attempt has disappointed fans of the product and therefore fans of the Nintendo DS range of consoles too.

It seems as though Nintendo has changed its approach to the R4 lawsuits recently by going after a network of distributors and retailers who have been organising the sale of the R4 instead of after the physical manufacturer. They won the suit with a settlement out of court, however, the judge ordered that the retailer needed to provide a list of other distributors connected to the network. In effect Nintendo managed to pull down an entire ring of the R4 network.

This has all happened fairly quietly and few reports have been made about it. There is no word as to whether or not the silence is a direct result of a court order to shut out media, or if it has been a choice of both Nintendo and R4. This could be because of the release of the new Nintendo DSI XL. Perhaps they wish to avoid the negative publicity. R4 has remained tight lipped in the lead up to the release and perhaps they have been banned from association with the manufacturing giant.

Regardless of the reason, what is clear is that Nintendo are determined to remove the R4 from the market even if they have to go about it indirectly.

Nintendo are changing the way they market their consoles in recent times, like the DSI XL and are getting creative at making something new appear exciting when it may not be. What is compatible with the R4
