Shrek the Third - XBox 360 game

Shrek the Third, the Xbox 360 game is another of those movie based mediocre games. Sure, this game is not as bad as so many of others from this genre. But this could have been better for sure. Like most of the games in this genre, the focus here is not so much on a good gaming experience as on money making propaganda for the movie fans and the curious. The game has nothing great with regards to the plot, the material, etc.

The voice acting is not upto the mark. The camera angle is nearly fixed allowing for many frustrated gamers. However, this game is not completely boring. Most of the time, you play the green ogre, Shrek, as the lead character here. However, sometimes you might play most of the other positive characters from the movies. The game, on the whole, is an action game, that places a lot of focus on button mashing success. However, to add to that, we have a little of puzzles, platforming, object collection, etc.

The character design here is good, but nonetheless useless. Most of the characters have their own unique powers, like Puss in the Boots ability to double jump. However, they do not come to much use considering the game still focuses on the mindless double button mashing.

This game, as mentioned before, is not as bad as the others in this genre. But, it still fails to make a mark with presentation and gameplay both. Moreover, an extremely easy action game like this doesn’t make for fun.
